Person-Centred Counselling

robyn lang

We are all faced with difficult decisions, periods of instability and change, and often our emotions may feel out of our control or out of place. I believe that while this can be a natural part of life, it can be helpful to share these concerns with someone whose primary aim is to listen. I treat each client as an individual, and while I may offer alternative perspectives fundamentally my aim is for you to feel empowered, to have a better understanding of yourself and your relationship to others, and to find some acceptance with who you are and what you've experienced. I am a qualified Counselling Professional with a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of Brighton. I have experience working with a wide variety of clients with concerns ranging from bereavement, domestic abuse, relationship issues, career obstacles, difficulties with body image and many others. I particularly focus on the role of emotions; those which come easier than others, and the way these inform our behaviour. I also work a lot with imagery and metaphor and find that creative work can be of use when words fail us.
Whether you have previously experienced some form of therapy, are in a period of crisis, or simply feel that some support would be helpful for you, you are very welcome!

About Me

Big-but-little sis ❤️

Having originally studied Psychology and Sociology, I became aware that while the bigger picture is interesting what fascinates me most are individuals - their stories and experiences and the ways that they relate to others. I qualified in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2017, and worked voluntarily at Rock Clinic from January 2016 to December 2017. I have since worked with a diverse range of clients in private practice. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
